Creating coloured candles was something we always wanted to do but with so many toxic dyes out there we were apprehensive to head down this road. We are very pleased that our 100% Beeswax candles are made with a tiny amount (around 0.5%) of specially formulated non-toxic vegetable and mineral-based pigment and the white is purified pressure-filtered beeswax.
SAFETY INFO- As always please burn with care, never leaving the candle alone, away from children and it may drip so having something underneath it is a good idea too.
Beeswax is made by honeybees building combs in their hives. Beekeepers extract the honey from the combs and they are left with the wax, a beautiful by-product of an incredible process of nature. No waste and sustainable. Not only that - beeswax is said to have a completely clean, non-toxic burn that releases negative ions into the air which bind with toxins and help remove them from the air. It also lasts - beeswax has been found in ancient Egypt in tombs dating back to 1550 B.C. A. Also, I have read that the colour of the light that is emitted from a beeswax candle flame is the same spectrum as the sun!
In candles, beeswax burns longer and without soot- better for you, better for your family, pets and most definitely better for your white walls. They also drip less, smell good and are a beautiful colour all by themselves, completely naturally. In an increasingly fragile world- beeswax is 100% natural and a renewable resource. The beekeepers we work are dedicated to educating and upskilling budding beekeepers and looking after generations of bees with passion and care.
